The Northern Territory is a frontier country, home to iconic Australian wildlife: from the wetlands of Kakadu to the jumping crocodiles of Mary River. The NT is the least populated region in Australia, and is for this reason, appealing to people who want to get away from crowds and the hustle and bustle of populated cities. NT has many natural wonders, including the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park on the state’s bottom half called the ‘Red Centre,” a tropical paradise with lovely waterfalls and rocky coastlines. It is also home to Darwin, the region’s capital city, known for its beautiful red sunsets, cultural markets and innovative restaurants.
For potential adventurous migrants, NT has attractive skilled migration programs both for students and working residents of the state. The NT Government grants nominations for Subclasses 491 and 190 for residents, who show strong employment ties in the NT and a long-term commitment to stay in the NT job environment. The NT has an international graduate stream, which aside from a study requirement in NT, only requires genuine and sustained efforts to obtain employment in NT. The resident stream on the other hand, places big weight on residency in NT for a duration of time.
